February 11, 2008 - Secure-24, a premier provider of information security and managed hosting services, has been recognized as one of the
"Michigan 50 Companies to Watch", an awards program sponsored by the Edward Lowe Foundation.
Secure-24 will be honored at an awards ceremony during the third annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business event, April 24 in Lansing.
"We consider it a great privilege to be recognized among the "Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch", said Matthias Horch, CEO of
Secure-24, Inc. "We have had truly exceptional growth and success, and the great state of Michigan played a large role in that success."
"Michigan 50 Companies to Watch is a unique awards program designed to shine the spotlight on second-stage companies", says Mark
Lange, executive director of the Edward Lowe Foundation, a not-for-profit operating foundation based in Michigan.
The foundation's mission is to "champion the entrepreneurial spirit" by encouraging entrepreneurial cultures in communities throughout
the country and helping second-stage companies learn from each other.
"When it comes to a robust economy, second-stage entrepreneurs play a critical role because they generate new jobs and sustainable
growth," Lange says. "And yet, they're not often recognized or appreciated for the impact they have on the economy or the community."
Secure-24, which is headquartered in Southfield, specializes in managed hosting, disaster recovery, and services for enterprise-level, business-critical applications. The company takes advantage of
their class V data centers in Michigan and Arizona to provide a high security, high availability, failover-capable environment for customer solutions. Secure-24's business model allows them to take
advantage of economies of scale in providing premier, fully managed hosting solutions, at a minimal cost.
"Secure-24 is definitely not the price leader. We have built our revenue as well as our reputation by focusing on the premier side of the service spectrum. In short, we have brought a level of
complexity, as well as a depth of knowledge that has only been approached by the largest providers of managed services", said Matt Wenzler, the company's Vice President of Sales.
"The increasing pressure from federal regulators as well as the up market OEM's have caused more and more companies to focus on processes, auditing and quality controls. Many of the companies
would prefer to focus on their core business, and recognize that it is unfeasible to try to create a replication of our service model within the walls of their organization. We have positioned
Secure-24 to be the trusted partner that can efficiently help them obtain the tools, capabilities and processes they know they need to stay competitive in today's changing markets", Wenzler
continued.
Winners were selected by judges from the banking, economic development, entrepreneurship development and venture capital communities. Judges evaluated the nominees' demonstrated intent and capacity
to grow based on one or more of the following:
- Employee or sales growth
- Exceptional entrepreneurial leadership
- Sustainable competitive advantage
- Other notable factors that showcase the company's success.
