NewsSecure-24 Co-Founder Matthias Horch Named 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. June 12, 2009 – Secure-24, a leading provider of managed enterprise hosting announced today that co-founder Matthias Horch has been named the winner in the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program, Central Great Lakes Region in the Information Technology category.

Ernst & Young recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate great leadership in their communities. An independent panel of business leaders judged and selected Horch as both finalist and winner. The award was presented to Horch Thursday evening in Dearborn, Mich. at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Horch is now eligible for the national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, to be announced in November.

In 2000, Horch and Secure-24 co-founder Volker Straub launched the company with no external funding and nothing more than an idea.

Secure-24’s most recent investment is a new state-of-the-art Technology Resource Center, built as it entered into a unique private/public partnership with the government of Wayne County (Mich.). Completed in May 2009, this new data center will be able to support the needs of private sector clients and all 43 communities in Wayne County. This expansion is expected to create hundreds of high-tech jobs.
