Network Engineer

Position Overview:

The ideal Network Engineer candidate must have a minimum of two to five years (2-5) years network experience in routing/switching, network security administration, including firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention support.

Experience must include:

  • Experience working in a data center networking or enterprise networking environment.
  • Experience supporting and implementing routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Experience should include working with VPNs, IPSEC and SSL VPNs.
  • Experience should include working with IDS and security products.
  • Experience identifying network security risks and implementing solutions to protect network security.
  • A working knowledge of the following technologies: VPN (IPSec and SSL), standards based routing protocols, copper and optical physical media, highly available layer 2 and layer 3 environments.
  • Must have design experience; designing and deploying large private networks, and managing telecom providers to meet this end.

Technical Skills / Responsibilities:

  • Installing and managing routers & switches, firewalls and IDS/IPS security devices.
  • Hands on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP etc).
  • Knowledge of the OSI Model and networking fundamentals (ARP, Router Lookup).
  • Experience with Cisco IOS, ScreenOS and/or JUNOS.
  • Successful candidate will have experience in IP networking, utilizing Juniper and Cisco hardware; and all types of IP routing utilizing a range of routing protocols.
  • Hands-on experience solving network issues.
  • SSL and/or IPSec VPN, network load-balancers, protocol analysis (Sniffer), web proxy, SMTP e-mail relay and spam filtering, SNMP, DNS and VMWare.
