Hyperion Administrator
A Hyperion administrator is responsible for implementing, documenting, maintaining, and supporting the technical environment of all Hyperion Products. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work with a wide array of Hyperion technology for customers in various industries and technologies. Working as part of a growing team in a fast paced work environment for a platinum oracle partner. Individuals in this position work at a technical level with Hyperion products, the underlying database, operating system, and hardware platform. Interaction with the Functional teams, various technical teams, and business stakeholders to optimize and maintain the overall Hyperion reliability, availability, and performance will continually challenge any candidate.
Our Hyperion team is responsible for the architecture, implementations, and ongoing support of all systems we manage. We have focus areas within the team on architecture (standards, documentation, infrastructure, new customer intake), implementations (building new systems, adding capacity to existing systems, customer handover), and engineering-level (second level) support (daily tasks and operations, addressing capacity and availability alerts, systems audits, patching and updates, customer facing questions, executing both small and large projects to address internal and customer needs) and are always looking for talented administrators with an interest in any (or all) of these tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure and support Hyperion suite of products. Hyperion Planning, Financial Management, Essbase, Financial Data Quality Management, Hyperion Strategic Finance, Enterprise Performance Management Architect, Report and Analysis.
- Back up and recover all Hyperion applications.
- Work closely with System Infrastructure teams to configure servers, storage, and network access and support and perform Database and Application, refreshes and trouble shooting performance.
- Perform system upgrades.
- Perform migrations of Essbase, Planning, HFM and other products from source systems to new systems.
- Make procedural and/or operational corrections as necessary.
- Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
- Provide recommendations on company technology purchases.
- Work with sales to understand customer needs and develop system architecture.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of six (6) years of extensive experience installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Oracle’s Hyperion EPM Modules 9.3.1/11.1.1.3/11.1.2 in Windows, UNIX and Linux environments.
- Experience in troubleshooting issues for Hyperion EPM Clients such as EAS, Essbase Client, Excel Add-in, FR Reporting Studio, and server type applications like Essbase, Planning, Foundation Services, EPMA Architect, Profitability and Cost Management, DRM, FDQM, SmartView
- Deep understanding of Hyperion components; RDBMS, Weblogic, Application or Application Server suite of products.
- Deep Experience with Windows OS, Linux.
- At least two full life cycle implementations of Hyperion software.
- At least one full life cycle of Hyperion software upgrade.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.
- Strong customer focus. Must work well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management.
- Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments.
