What Happened?Nothing.

During the summer of 2003, a massive power outage covered the Northeastern states as well as a few states in the Midwest and absolutely nothing happened at Secure-24. Everywhere else air conditioners quit, lights went out, stores closed, stoplights stopped functioning, and traffic havoc ensued, but Secure-24 — quietly and steadily — just kept running as it always has.

We did not have any interruption of service to our customers at either of the affected (Michigan) facilities during this time. Customers with remote offices and customers outside of the area were able to continue to access their critical applications. In terms of service, they didn't notice a thing, thanks to the effectiveness of our power infrastructure.

How did we do it? Our large capacity, diesel generators started automatically within 60 seconds of the power outage. The large fuel capacity of our generators allows Secure-24 to continue operations for approximately 2.5 - 3 days under full load without any additional fuel supplies. However, Secure-24 has contracted for on-site fuel delivery in the case of an extended outage. With off site supply, we can keep our facilities running indefinitely.
