Fire Suppression and Detection Systems, ProceduresState-of-the Art
Secure-24 utilizes a combination of state-of-the-art fire suppression and detection systems, along with best business practices, to mitigate the risk of fire, and a fires ensuing damage.
Secure-24 does not allow any flammable material to be brought into the data center. All server components are "broken out" in a separate room, and brought into the facility without their packing materials. Food and beverages are also not allowed into the server area.
We utilize a Fike fire suppression and detection system that has the ability to detect fire threats very early. This system samples the air many times a second for smoke, dust particles, and heat sources. Two detection heads authenticate each other to protect against false positives. Once dual authentication is complete, the alarm is sounded, and the system is primed. A LED display shows the location of the threat, and the local fire department is notified.
All of the Secure-24 facilities utilize a "dry pipe" policy; which means that all of the pipes in the building run dry until the alarming system is triggered. This protects against human error (i.e.- knocking a pipe loose).
Each sprinkler head has a wax bead that must melt before there will be a water response. This guarantees a localized response in case of a fire.
All of these components work together to ensure an early, localized response to a fire threat. Ideally, the early detection will allow for a human response with an electronic friendly extinguisher. Secure-24 makes use of Halotron II extinguishers.
Secure-24 uses these state-of-the-art facilities as the foundation upon which we build our business model. It is imperative that our foundation is as reliable and well thought out as the professional services that we provide.
