The Oracle/ MS SQL DBA will be required to support Secure-24’s Oracle environments. Responsibilities include backup/recovery procedures, writing Oracle scripts, general monitoring of system performance and assisting users with SQL and PL/SQL needs for day to day operations.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all standard database administrative tasks, such as: proactive performance tuning and monitoring, trouble-shooting, partitioning, replication, configurations on an as needed basis.
• Build, install, configure and maintain Oracle Databases
  Work Directly with Project teams in support of the Database requirements.
• Perform installations, upgrades and patches to Oracle systems.
  Conduct routine audits of all Oracle systems for compliance with established standard, policies, configuration guidelines and procedures
• Document configurations and maintain documentation.
  
• Joint review of Oracle statistics collection mechanisms and database growth summaries
  
• Monitoring of our Oracle database for pending problems
  
• Reporting and resolving all serious Oracle alert log messages
  
• Database reorganizations and row re-sequencing for performance
  
• Performance tuning troubleshooting and issue resolution of large, complex Enterprise Oracle environments including Oracle 8, 9i, 10g.
  

Qualifications:

• Oracle migration experience
  
• 2-3 years of experience with Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g
  
• Experience data modeling and physical database layout experience
  
• 2-3 years experience with SQL statements and reporting best practices
  
• Solid Oracle administration skills including: database maintenance, backup, disaster planning and recovery, monitoring and tuning and RMAN.
  
• Ability to resolve performance bottlenecks using command line tools as well as GUI tools.
  
• Must have a strong emphasis on database availability and 24X7 Support
  
• Excellent communication skills, team focus, and good business Judgment
  
• Experience with either AIX, Sun Solaris, Unix, Linux or Windows Server 2000/2003
  
• Oracle Experience in Disaster recovery, SQL Tuning,
• Application Clustering, Advanced Replication, Data Warehousing a plus.
  
• Experience with Shell Scripting (korn/Bourne/C Shell)
• MSSQL server 2000 / 2005 experience is a plus.
