Position Overview:

The ideal Network Engineer candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years senior level experience in network security administration, including firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection support.

Five (5) years experience and working knowledge of:

  • Network and security analysis, design, deployment, and management to include areas such as virtual private networks, firewalls, content filtering, and intrusion detection
  • EBGP, OSPF, RIPv2, EIGRP, HSRP, GLBP, GRE, ACS, RADIUS, TACACS+, ACLs, Syslog, SNMP
  • EtherChannel, Spanning Tree, Trunking, VLAN, Checkpoint
  • PIX, ASA, IDS, IPS, IPSec, AES, TKIP, VPN
  • DNS, DHCP
  • Wildcard certs, SSL Certs, Real Server, Virtual IP, VMWare

Experience must include:

  • Firewall support for Cisco PIX and Juniper
  • Making appropriate changes to network security hardware/software configurations and/or works directly with the service providers and end client to correct network security problems
  • Installing and monitoring the most complex installations of network security software and hardware to provide LAN, MAN, WAN, SAN and Data Center security services, including network security monitoring, security hardware/software management, firewall rule management, and related activities
  • Providing senior level security support in diagnosis and identifying corrective actions to address network security hardware/software problems, monitors staff activities to correct problems, and monitors changes to ensure network security problems are corrected

Technical Skills / Responsibilities:

  • Installing and managing routers & switches, PIX/ASA and IDS/IPS security devices
  • Configuration of DNS and DHCP services, Check Point firewall systems, internet service, remote access (WAN, VPN) systems and network monitoring systems. Experience with Cisco NAC and CSA a plus.
  • Must have CCIE: Routing and switching or equivalent experience. Hands on knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP etc).
  • Successful candidate will have expert experience in IP networking, utilizing Juniper and Cisco hardware; and all types of IP routing utilizing a range of routing protocols. Extensive experience in traffic flow analysis, network management, network topology design, security, performance and fault tolerant architecture.
  • Other experience desired would be SNMP, remote access VPN and WAN (Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS) management and VoIP.
  • The candidate must have design experience using WAN technologies (OC-3, OC-12, etc), T-1, T-3, and E-1. Candidate must also have expert-level knowledge with layer 2/3 technologies, specifically CISCO Ethernet switches; and, be able to understand and configure switch ports and VLANS on CISCO devices.
  • Hands-on experience solving network problems. Experience using protocol analyzers and understanding of communication protocol details. Be prepared to answer detailed questions about the protocols you claim you are knowledgeable about in your resume. Must be a self-learner.
  • SSL and/or IPSec VPN, network load-balancers, protocol analysis (Sniffer), web proxy, SMTP e-mail relay and spam filtering, SNMP, DNS, VMWare
