We are seeking a Hyperion Administrator to perform a variety of computer operations, monitor the console control panel and make procedural and/or operational corrections as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor computers and peripheral equipment to include; printers, tape and disk drives.
  • Identify the Financial Management installation requirements
  • Install and configure Financial Management
  • Install and configure Reporting and Analysis tools
  • Verify installations
  • Install and configure Financial Data Quality Management
  • Back up, recover, and upgrade Financial Management
  • Back up and recover all Hyperion applications
  • Observe operation of equipment, control panels, error lights, verification printouts, error messages, and faulty output.
  • Identify the Planning installation requirements
  • Install Essbase
  • Install Smart View
  • Install and configure Planning
  • Install and configure Workspace, Financial Reporting, and Web Analysis
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance
  • Research error messages and manipulate console to re-sequence job steps after a job is interrupted.
  • Monitor console control panel for faulty output or machine stoppage.
  • Make procedural and/or operational corrections as necessary.
  • Contact appropriate staff to resolve console control panel errors.
  • Determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.).
  • Advise staff on appropriate action.
  • Remove and distribute computer output.
  • Clear equipment at end of operating run and review schedule to determine next assignment.
  • Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
  • Provide recommendations on company technology purchases.
  • Document computer problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
  • Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
  • Provide computer orientation to new company staff.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of computer system backup requirements and procedures; computer input and output media. Ability to initialize and operate computer hardware and software systems. Ability to utilize computer operating systems utilities. Knowledge of computer job control procedures. Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications. Work with staff requires interpersonal skills.
  • These skills are normally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of computer operations experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding how a Hyperion system interacts with the complete network to include, but not limited to, database, network, WAN/LAN, backups, OS, web layer.

Working conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment and include extensive computer use. Occasional lifting of objects up to 40 pounds. May require shift work.
