We are seeking an experienced Altiris Engineer who will work on the design and integration of Altiris solutions, as follows:

Day to Day Work:

• Work closely with Altiris Technical Support, Product Engineering, and Professional Services escalation team to identify and resolve issues and to mitigate customer impact.
• Maintain a high level technical expertise with Altiris products and solutions.
• Mentor junior consultants within the team in developing stronger Altiris skills.
• Display strong situational analysis, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Assume leadership on engagements and work without direct supervision, interfacing with customer IT and business-function leaders.
• Maintain professional demeanour and appearance at all times.
• Provide successful project performance and follow-up.
• Develop and present comprehensive project documentation and results to Altiris customers.
• Must demonstrate implementation experience (i.e., enterprise implementations)

Engineering Background:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and problem solving and multi tasking abilities required.
• Excellent presentation/public speaking skills for both technical and management presentations both internally and to clients required.
• Proven success under aggressive schedules and ambiguous direction required.
• Strong influence/interpersonal skills, customer orientation, team interaction/effectiveness, and analytical and decision making skills required.
• Strong management/supervisory and presentation skills required.
• Strong ability to elicit customer requirements, define limits to project scope and develop documentation preferred.
• Working knowledge of scripting tools, such as Windows Scripting Host, WISE and the like preferred.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL query languages TCP/IP networks, including DHCP, DNS, and WINS is required.
• A working knowledge of internet technologies, including IIS, HTML, XML, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP required
• A working knowledge of network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, subnets, V-LANs, Ethernet, and Token Ring is required.
• A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
• A working knowledge of e-mail and internet use is required.
• 5+ years experience with Altiris Deployment Solution and Notification Server.
• A working knowledge of Standard client platform administration,
  configuration, rights management and file access.
• Bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Windows 2003/2008 experience a MUST. MSCE preferred.
• Must be familiar with Altiris 7.x.
• Must be able to demonstrate trouble shooting SQL and Altiris issues.
• Large scale deployment of Altiris Notification server to enterprise environment a real plus.
• Experience writing custom reports in Altiris.
  
• Must have an understanding of the network impact of the solution.
• Altiris Certified Engineer (ACE), MCSE 2000 – Preferred.
• ITIL Foundation.
